SONGA LIMITED COMPANY was approached to undertake a significant and challenging project, the construction of a modern farmstead, complemented by the installation of a solar-powered irrigation system, represents a significant leap towards sustainable agriculture.

The farmstead was designed to optimize efficiency, featuring energy-efficient structures and equipment that reduce carbon footprints. The solar-powered irrigation system not only conserves water but also harnesses renewable energy, ensuring that crops receive consistent moisture without escalating utility costs.

Our Scope of work

Songa successfully completed a four-month project aimed at enhancing agricultural practices in the region. As part of the initiative, we constructed tank stands capable of supporting four 10,000 L (liter) water tanks and developed a comprehensive pipeline system to facilitate efficient water distribution across the fields. The project also included the design and installation of solar-powered irrigation systems to optimize water usage and address the challenges of climate-resilient agriculture. Through these efforts, Songa not only contributed to the sustainability of local farming practices but also laid a strong foundation for community growth and resilience.

The project involved several critical components, including the construction of two chicken cages for effective poultry management and protection. To support sustainable farming operations, Songa also undertook borehole drilling and installed submersible pumps with a capacity of 3 L/s (liters per second). Alongside boreholes, equipped with 11 solar panels and surrounded by protective walls around the pumping stations to ensure durability and efficiency.
